Tennessee
Press Service
Press Release Distribution Service
Reaching 128 Tennessee Newspapers
(members of Tennessee Press Association)
Option 1 — Mailed Release: Cost is $195
We would need the final version of the press release to be distributed—either
electronic or a hard copy. We cannot retype the release. The cost includes
up to four 8 1/2 x 11 pages. Up to four more pages can be added with
an additional charge of $65. We would copy the material (if necessary)
and distribute it in plain envelopes. We would need 128 envelopes if
the client prefers to use their own. This price does include postage.
OR, the client may do the mailing, but purchase a set of 128 mailing
labels from us at a cost of $75 per set.
Option 2 — Faxed Press Release: Cost is $130
In order to fax to our membership, we would need an electronic copy
of the release and it would need to be in a text format (a Microsoft
word document is also acceptable). We would format the release as closely
as possible to the example you provide; however, due to our software
limitations, it would not be exact and could not include graphics. The
base charge for the fax includes one 8 1/2 x 11 page. Additional pages
are $65 each.
Option 3 — E-mail Press Release: Cost is $65
($35 for clients and members)
TPA Associate members, TPS Clipping clients, or Advertising clients
have a special rate of $35. The material must be in an electronic format.
It is advisable to provide text rather than a PDF file because newspapers
will have an easier time of using your material if they can simply take
the text from the e-mail message in order to write the story. The price
for press releases sent via e-mail includes up to 2000 words. If desired,
the customer may send more than one press release at the same time as
long as word count is not exceeded. Any additional press releases sent
separately via e-mail on the SAME DAY as the first will cost only $35
each.
Including photographs with a press release:
Mail: A photo may be included with the press release,
and it will be counted as one page. If the photo is mailed, the customer
must have 128 hard copies of the photo for each newspaper to receive
their own.
E-mail: The client may also send the photo(s) as an
attachment to an e-mail. It is preferred that the client send the photo(s)
in electronic format, and at a resolution of 200 dpi. The file size
of all attachments should not exceed 1 MB. There is a $10 scanning fee
per image if the photo must be scanned by our office. On the web: Posting
a photo on our Web site is also an option for a cost of $20 for the
first photo and $10 for each additional photo posted on the same day.
The photo would receive a file name and be placed on www.tnpress.com
under our press release section. Or, the customer may place the photo(s)
on their own Web site. If the photo(s) appear on either Web site option,
an address and instructions to download would need to be included in
the press release.
Payment:
All options are to be paid in advance. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover,
and American Express in addition to company checks and money orders.
Checks payable to Tennessee Press Service, Inc. (Current clients, with
approved credit, may be invoiced.)
Please note: we cannot guarantee publication of releases in our member
newspapers. TPS may mark the press releases we send with the following
disclaimer: “Tennessee Press Service has been paid to distribute
this press release to newspapers in Tennessee. The contents do not represent
the positions held by TPS or its employees.”
We also offer a directory of our member newspapers. The 2008 edition
is available at a cost of $43.70 (tax inclusive). The directory lists
the newspaper name, address, telephone/fax numbers and key personnel.
